How to Wear a Plus Size Kimono | Alight Plus Size Clothing

Alright ladies, let's get real. Some plus size clothing just isn't flattering am I right? Sometimes kimonos aren't the cutest thing a busty gal with a bigger waist can wear, and there is a fine line between plus size and moo moo. So today, I am going to talk about some stylish ways to wear a kimono!

Kimonos are fun and flowy, and can be a really fun addition to your closet that can help diversify your wardrobe and your outfits for all seasons. Check out some of these kimonos I'm current crushing on, as well as other plus size kimono looks:

Erin Wilson styled this stunning floral kimono with something most gals already have in their closet: a cute t-shirt, black pants, and darling flats. I also love that necklace she chose! Very darling!

Go formal with a kimono! I love the feminine and soft blush colorings Kelly Augustine paired with her floral kimono that she looked absolutely perfect in for Valentine's Day!

Assa, from My Curves and Curls,  rocked her patterned kimono with a crop top and summery bottoms. This is a great look for late spring/early summer, and has classic colors so it won't ever go out of style!

Bring your white t-shirt and blue jeans to the next level with a colorful kimono like Shainna of A Thick Girl's Closet did. I love the neon color! Day-glo is in, y'all! And I think it's here to stay ;-)

    1. I don't necessarily think it conceals so much as it enhances ;-)

  10. I love this! I moved to the north from Alabama many years ago, and the one thing that blew my mind was the difference in thinking about plus sized women. I heard some really horrible things said, and I couldn't believe it. We don't even see that stuff down there. Plus sized women can rock the looks just like smaller women. Sometimes they do it better!

    1. It is a shame that people cannot manage to be nice. Some people are shaped differently, and it saddens me that not everyone can recognize that and be mindful of others' feelings. Totally agree, Ben!

    1. I hear you! Scarves can be hard to style every season too---much easier to rock a kimono in the summer than a scarf. Hehe
