    1. Aww I totally understand, Laura! Sometimes it's more fun to just GO to the party than to actually plan it--am I right? ;-) And you are welcome! Happy holidays to you as well!

  3. Before we had kids, we used to invite people to a New Year's Eve Party and would have all this food and drinks and all get out with the hats and party favors, etc. It always seemed that our friends had other things or places to go to that night. They would stop by for a little while and at Midnight, there we were cleaning everything up! I've learned my lesson and I don't do that anymore! I love your ideas of throwing a terrific New Year's Eve Party! You really know how to throw a party! Nowadays, we sit with the kids and have our own punch (non-alcoholic) and wait for the "ball" to drop and say Happy New Year! The neighbors around here are crazy and set off fireworks and it even sounds like some people are shooting off guns! Of course, my dogs go crazy with all the noise. My husband is generally asleep on the couch! The kids bang some pots and pans for a while then we all clean up and go to bed (thrilling isn't it?) I want to thank you for sharing all of the wonderful ideas on making a last minute New Year's Party a great one! I really do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele :)

    1. That is kind of a bummer that they'd leave before helping you clean! I always try to make an effort when I'm at a friend's house to help them clean up when wrapping up dinner. People should know better! Just know, if I went to your party, I'd help you clean up! That is awesome that you sit with the family and watch the ball drop. I have a lot of fond memories growing up and watching that with my mom as well. And you are so welcome--glad I could help share some tips with some readers and you appreciate it! You rock! Thanks so much for leaving such a great comment, Michele! Have a fabulous new year!

  4. Great ideas! I admit this year schedules have made me a huge procrastinator so I am scrambling to organize myself. I will keep your tips and will definitely use them next year. This year I think will be a family only event.
