Good morning! Today I want to share something that I have been dying to talk about: Blended Conference!! It is an awesome conference held here in Arizona and I am pleased to announce that I am an ambassador--so I get to help spread the word about this fantastic event!
Due to financial restrictions, I was unable to attend last year! Sad! I know. But this year is another story--I am planning ahead for it since I heard such amazing things about it in 2014, and I knew I just could not forgive myself if I missed it again this year.
If you have never attended a blogger conference before, I highly recommend it!
It is a fantastic opportunity to meet other bloggers. Never in my life had I thought I would meet and get to know other people who care so much about the things I do when it comes to my work, and there are just some things that my friends and family simply do not understand about blogging; it's a great way to not only make professional contacts, but to even meet real friends who get you and understand things only a fellow blogger would understand.
Also, it is an incredibly invaluable way to grow and perfect your craft! For me, starting off as a blogger meant I needed to make my photos look better and more appealing. Let's take a look at real-life growth that I have had from talking to and learning from fellow bloggers and photographers:
The photo on the left is from a recipe post I made back in 2012, and the photo on the right is a photo from 2014; both have similar foods in the photo, however, there is a difference in quality. Right? Well, I can thank other bloggers like Katie Hornor and Liz Latham for helping me grow as a blogger in my photography skills. And you can improve your photography skills at #BlendedConf!
I know all of the speakers this year will be fantastic, but I am especially excited for Katie Hornor and Liz Latham to speak this year at Blended Conference! She is going to talk to all of us about Pinterest and Photography--so if you're a foodie/diy blogger, you know for SURE that both of these topics 1) are very important and 2) that they go hand in hand with one another. I cannot count how many times I have seen a pin on Pinterest and thought "that is a cute idea, but the photo is not that great...maybe I won't repin it after all." I mean, I am just being honest here but seriously your photos that you share to Pinterest as a business or blogger are crucial--you have milliseconds to get someone's attention as they are browsing through their Pinterest feed and if a great photo catches their eye, they are more likely to stop and click through your pin and check out your site!
I know for certain that these ladies will have amazing insight to share with all of the Blended Conference attendees on how to optimize photography to market yourself on Pinterest! And I am also a huge fan of the owner of Blended Conference, Wendy of Around My Family Table, and I know that she has a fantastic rest of the conference agenda in store for us! Stay tuned on our social media as well as we release more information about other speakers who will be at this year's Blended Conference.
This is basically just a few of the reasons why I am so stoked to attend and also help make this conference a success--and I encourage any of you who are bloggers and can make the trip (or live) out to Arizona to attend! Be sure to follow Blended Conference on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Tickets are on sale starting March 1st!

What topic(s) do you want to learn more about at a blog conference?
That sounds like a great conference. I don't think I can swing it this year, but maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteYeah maybe next year!
DeleteI would love to learn more photo tips at a conference. In particular, tools that people are using and how to really make photos pop. Lots of examples would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh that would be good! So basically 1) the actual resources and programs people are using and 2) tips on how to use those resources for enhancing photos. Cool--thanks for your input!
DeleteI'm new to the whole game, so I'd love to learn tips on EVERYTHING. I think I need the most help with photography, though. =(
ReplyDeleteI am sure that you're great! I feel like 99% of people feel as though they can improve their photography, so I am sure you are not alone at all!
DeleteWow, this sounds like a great conference. I am just starting to think about conferences. Will have to add this to my list. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Shauna! They really are great--if you cannot make it to Blended Conference this year, I would recommend you try and find one near you!
DeleteSounds like an awesome conference! I love the photo's, I had no idea what I was doing when I first started and I have come along way! Still have lots to learn though!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Me too!!
DeleteI too am excited about this conference! I have been blogging for less than a year and I have NO clue what in the world I am doing. I am anxious to learn about the photography... I guess for me the first step will be to invest in a camera since I don't own one.
ReplyDeleteHeck yeah!! It is going to be such a party and I am glad you are going, Edna! It will be fun to see you there :-) And I know what you mean; photography can be intimidating if it's something you are not familiar with, and I just know that you will learn so much and absorb the info that is right for you up like a sponge!
DeletePhoto tips and SEO!!! I wish I could attend this conference!
ReplyDeleteYES SEO scares me haha I am in the same boat as you, Michelle! And I wish you could come, too!
DeleteI've been eyeing that conference for a while now, but it just hasn't worked out for me. Yet. I still hope it will sometime!
ReplyDeleteYeah hopefully soon!
DeleteI bet everyone had a great time! conferences are great, i love learning new things
ReplyDeleteYeah most definitely! Conferences are fabulous!
DeleteI've been at this for 6 1/2 years and I would still love to learn more about SEO!
ReplyDeleteLee
Me too!!
DeleteYour second picture looks so much more appetizing than the first. Looks like time has taught you much. This blogger conference seems like a very useful tool.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much and yes I have learned a lot! All of the information I have gathered is invaluable, and I owe it all to those who have given me tips and tricks!
DeleteGreat setup in the second photo!!! I can't wait to meet another Blendette!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Michelle!! Yes!! I am excited to meet you too!! Yay Blendettes! :D
DeleteI would love to go to a blog conference. Time does not permit me to do so right now, maybe when my kids are older. I bet you learn a lot from them!
ReplyDeleteI totally do, and I can only imagine how hard it would be to schedule with little ones! Well no worries, I am sure that Blended Conference will be around for many years to come!
DeleteI would love to learn more about marketing my blog. I love going to conferences.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteCan't wait to meet you at the Conference!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to meet you, too!
DeleteI haven't been to a blogging conference, and this sounds fun! I would love to come, and would also love to participate in your AZ Bloggers group if I could! I am just getting back to my blog but really don't have any expertise, just enjoy doing projects and sharing and making new friends! - Plus, it's a total de-stresser!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and all the great things you share! Nice!!
Hugs & Smiles,
Theresa @ www.junk2jewels-diy.blogspot.com/
Good morning, Theresa! So happy to meet you! Yes of course--I actually invited you via email to the AZ Bloggers group on Facebook! It may take a few days to get you access, since the group is invite only and the admins of the group have to approve it. Thank you so much for your kind words--makes my day! I agree, doing projects is definitely a de-stresser! I am the same way myself. I am following your blog now, so I am happy I will see your updates! I do hope that you can come to Blended (tickets go on sale on Sunday!) If you need anything or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out! :)
