When I am making my way around the city here in Phoenix, I heavily rely on public transportation like the light rail and bus routes to get around town. When I'm on the go, there are specifically five things that I always have with me--that are essential for me as a woman commuter!

Today I want to share my list of 5 Must-Haves for Women Who Commute:

Every day when I am getting ready to leave to go out for work and to run errands, I have to get everything in order before I head out the door. After much trial and error (and hard lessons), I have perfected my must-haves list for women commuters.

Here is the ultimate must-have list for women commuters: hand sanitizer, a water bottle, phone charger, Playtex® Sport®, and headphones.

Hand sanitizer is crucial for alleviating touching light rail handles, bus seats, etc. When you're not around a sink to wash your hands on the go, this will hold you over at least until you can wash your hands under warm water and soap. A reusable water bottle is needed to stay hydrated, and is absolutely essential especially as an Arizona native. A phone charger is important if you want to stay connected to your family, friends, and co-workers from the beginning of the day to the end of your day (because if you are like me, your phone battery dies halfway through the day).  Playtex® Sport® is crucial for me as a woman commuter, since I need a reliable tampon (and sometimes liner) that compliments my active and on-the-go lifestyle. And finally, headphones are essential for women commuters for multiple reasons--you can more efficiently make phone calls and hear the person on the other line better, and you can listen to music on your way to and from on where you are going while riding public transit.

I don't know if any of you ladies out there have had this happen before, but I have been in a situation without a tampon/panty liner when I am out of the house and it's felt like such a nightmare! That is why I prefer having Playtex® Sport® with me at all times when I am headed out of the house.

With the Playtex® Sport® combo pack, I have both tampons and liners (48 count) on hand and ready to bring with me when I'm getting together my must-have essentials for the day before I head out the door. When I'm leaving the place I am headed to before I catch the bus home, I know that my Playtex® Sport® tampon and liner will keep me comfortable and moving no matter what!

When I go to Walmart to buy my Playtex® Sport®, I can find it right on an endcap or in the feminine care aisle near the pharmacy in the store.

NEW! Playtex® Sport® now available in Pads, Liners and Combo Packs at Walmart! Now Sport Level Protection™ pads, liners and combo packs with Flexfit™ design to twist and turn with your body. Don't let your period get in the way. PlayOn! Or in my case, commute on!

And I love that they fit right in my pocket! So convenient and easy to bring with me when I am on the run heading out the door.

  1. Even though I am a SAHM and not a commuter, they are all things I pretty much carry with me all the time as well. Great ideas.

  3. The first commuting must I thought of was some form of entertainment and I see you have that covered with ear phones! Regarding your "nightmare" - that happened to me once as well. It ended up not being that bad but it was horrible mentally - being so paranoid and not being able to think about anything else or relax. Always a good idea to keep those supplies on hand no matter where you go :)

    1. YES! There is nothing worse than the feeling of paranoia when we think that a nightmare is on the horizon! And yes I love having ear phones for music--keeps me entertained for sure!

  4. These are definitely all must haves. Sometimes I feel lost if I am out and about and forget something because I know I will need it at some point.
