Give Your Guy a Spring, Signature Gift "Man-sket"

My husband, Adam, is the sweetest man I have ever met. I love him to death, but we all know what happens when it's the summer time and our guys are working hard in the heat or coming back from the gym--stink central! Obviously it's just because the guys are a little grubby for the time being, but deep down they are handsome and dapper dudes. Sometimes it's hard to tell my hubby he may need to go take a shower because I may not want to make him feel insecure. What I like to do is lean in and give him a hug, a kiss, and reassure him he may feel better after a nice, hot shower.

But I thought of something else I could do to lighten the mood when I want to let me hubby know he needs to freshen up a bit--by giving him a men's basket. Thus, the "man-sket" was born!

If you're all about the "man-sket" and want to make one of your own, this post is for you! What I'd like to do is let you all know what I did to put together Adam's very own man-sket.

So first thing's first: you will need to get a basket suitable for your guy. So whether that guy your husband, your dad, your son, or your friend you want to try and come up with a basket they will like. I would recommend a dark wood and one that looks rustic.

Even if we're pulling together a basket for a man in our life, it's important that we find one that has great quality (besides even guys can appreciate the little details, too). I love the look of this basket and the details of where the bottom basket meets the handle.

Once you're happy with your basket, you will want to find a matte ribbon that compliments the shade/coloring of your basket well. I would recommend fabrics like cloth and you definitely want to stray away from anything with glitter or shimmer. Also, I am a huge fan of plaid! My hubby wears a lot of flannel, so this fabric reminded me of him.

Any other add-ons you can find are great to consider if they have a lot of charisma like the guy you are putting a man-sket together for. I loved this distressed, wooden gift tag I found. You can take your man-sket even further by adding on a decal with their initial on it as well.

So once you have what you actually want to put in your basket as your gift, you may put everything in there and it feels empty; if this happens, it's because you are missing basket stuffing! It's that funny stuff you may see at your local craft store that looks like it's a mess to clean up--and now you know why people buy it! It's awesome for filling gift baskets and man-skets alike!

Measure and cut your ribbon so that it will wrap around the width of your basket. Use a hot glue gun (or another glue adhesive) to attach it.

I also decided to sit down and also write him a little note: guys can get insecure if we point out their physical flaws (i.e. if they smell like they need to take a shower or just need to freshen up). As a wife, I feel like it's important that I make sure my husband knows that I love him no matter what--even if he is a big stinker sometimes!

And now we're ready to take our man-sket to the next level!

Adam and I love stuff with mustaches on it--we have coffee mugs, erasers, paper clips, and even a planner with a mustache on it. I knew he would get a hoot out of having a mustache on his basket, so I grabbed some black (stiffened) felt and drew out a mustache to cut out.

Well if this isn't the most handsome loofa I have ever seen, then I don't know what is!

So dapper! Now I have all I need to finally put together my man-sket for Adam!

After I gave him his basket, he used the 3-in-1, Irish Spring Signature Body Wash later that day and he loved it! He said that it smelled good but wasn't too noticeable. And I thought he smelled good, too (we all know that it's important that we like our hubby's cologne/body wash--am I right?) So when I go to Walmart, I will be sure to buy him some more Irish Spring Signature products in the future for sure.

And if you are thinking you may want to get some for maybe your hubby, dad, son, or another man in your life, there is a coupon: Purchase one of the new Irish Spring Signature products and get $5 off a VUDU purchase! Take a picture of your receipt and then go to http://cbi.as/3boj to upload your receipt. Next step, enjoy watching!

What would you fill your "man-sket" with?

  1. Haha, the handsome loofa is too much! I'd have to do something other than bath products but the man-sket is such a good idea. My guy would like smoking accessories for sure.

  11. Being in a house full of girls, we add "man" in front of anything related to my husband. I'm going to use "mansket" for sure! I also love your basket decorating idea!
