30 Minute Asian Wonton Soup

I have a confession to make, y'all: I like eating soup even if it's 100 degrees outside. Yes, it's true. I have to say, it feels good that I was able to get that off my chest because I've been dying to share my 30 Minute Asian Wonton Soup recipe with all of you! It is very easy and convenient to make--which is great for busy individuals like myself.

Most of the time, when I want to make soup, I stop myself because I know just how long it can take to get a great tasting soup. Some recipes I've tried take hours in the crock pot, and really I don't have time for that these days! I'm incredibly busy, so if I have a hankering for some soup, I make this recipe with Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets and Birds Eye Protein Blends

First thing I did was prepare my broth. I used the standard chicken broth I always keep in my fridge, and I added a small amount of soy sauce and Asian spices; the Asian spices mix I use is two parts garlic powder, 2 parts sesame seeds, one part onion powder, one part dried green onion, one part ginger. While I kept my broth on low-medium heat, that allowed me time to begin making my wontons. 

Making wontons is a lot simpler than you'd think! I bought all of my ingredients at my local Walmart, including my Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets and Birds Eye Protein Blends

I love the Birds Eye Protein Blends California Style--it's so versatile to work with and is incredibly filling. When I made my wontons, I heated up my Birds Eye vegetables in the microwave and then began folding my wontons; the trick to filling them is finding the balance between too much and too inside the wonton.

I placed a small amount of my Birds Eye Protein Blends California Style onto the center of my wonton, used a small amount of water to wet the edges, and then I folded the wonton halfway.

Then, I folded the two sides together and attached them with another small dab of water.

30 Minute Asian Wonton Soup
(makes 2 servings)

  • 1 cup of Birds Eye Protein Blends California Style
  • 2 cups of Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets, chopped
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of Asian blend spices
  • 6 wonton wrappers

  1. Heat broth in a large saucepan on the stovetop. Add in Asian blend spices and mix, and stir every few minutes.
  2. Heat up a Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillet in the microwave, and then chop it up into smaller pieces. Add them into the broth and leave on low-medium heat.
  3. Heat up Birds Eye Protein Blends California Style in the microwave.
  4. Place a small amount of Birds Eye vegetables onto each wonton in the center. 
  5. Using a small amount of water with your finger, wet the edges of the wonton and fold it halfway. Press down for 15-30 seconds for each one to ensure they are fully sealed. Do this for each of the wontons. 
  6. Fold the wonton sides toward each other in the middle--use another small amount of water to fold and seal the two sides together. Hold for a few seconds and repeat for all of the wontons.
  7. Once the wontons are made, gently drop them into the broth on the stovetop. 
  8. Check the temperature of the soup and determine if you need to bring the heat up or let it sit for another minute. 
  9. Once the soup has reached the desired temperature, turn off the heat and pour the wonton soup into bowls.
  10. Enjoy!

  3. I LOVE soup! Any kind of soup...thick, creamy, or even just a good flavored broth. And I like it any time of the year...hot soup, cold soup. Stew, soup...whatever. I'm loving this recipe and can't wait to try it!
