Earlier this week, I had a particular cheeseburger that gave me an almost spiritual experience. This Phoenix Roadhouse Burger blew my mind--I'm honestly not sure why I hadn't ever thought to put all of these ingredients together at once, but I finally had an epiphany when I put this recipe together.

I was in disbelief with how amazing this burger tasted. I was uncontrollably and audibly "mmmm"ing and "yum"ing. Adam was giving me the strangest looks watching me eat this burger, and then I finally handed it over to him to try and he did the exact same thing as me!

I love bacon as much as the next person, but for whatever reason I am not sure, I hadn't ever tried wrapping a burger with bacon before. This was a first for me, and oh my goodness was it to-die for!

Wrapping the burger in bacon and grilling it was a lot easier than I had imagined. I used a toothpick to keep the bacon in place while I was grilling and it worked perfectly.

Phoenix Roadhouse Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 lb of lean ground beef
  • 1 slice of Kraft Cheese Aged Swiss
  • 4 slices of OSCAR MAYER bacon
  • 1 tablespoon of Kraft, Slow Simmered Original Barbecue Sauce
  • 1/2 cup of Walmart Marketside Shredded Lettuce
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Kraft Mayo
  • 1/2 tablespoon of Sriracha
  • 1/4 cup of crumbled bleu cheese
  • 2 onion rings
  • 1 hamburger bun

Directions:
  1. Lay 4 pieces of bacon down side by side.
  2. Lay burger on top of bacon, and fold the bacon around the sides so that it covers the burger. Use a toothpick to stabilize the bacon and keep it in place while grilling.
  3. Grill your burger until both the ground beef and bacon is fully cooked. Lay down a slice of cheese and allow it to melt for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Cook or grill onion rings in either the oven or on the grill.
  5. In a small bowl, generously mix the mayo with the Sriracha.
  6. Prepare your burger and start layering it; on the bottom bun, layer the Sriracha mayo with the bleu cheese crumbs. Then follow it with the bacon wrapped burger.
  7. Top off your burger with shredded lettuce, barbecue sauce, and onion rings.
  8. Enjoy!

After I finished my burger, my mouth was still watering from how amazing it tasted! I had a refreshing glass of ice cold Country Time lemonade after I had finished making Adam his burger.

I think it's safe to say that next time I go grocery shopping at Walmart, I'll be picking up some more of these ingredients to make some Phoenix Roadhouse Burgers for us again!

  10. I don't know about you, but sometimes I run across something that make me slap myself on the forehead and go "DUH!" I've wrapped hot dogs in bacon, meat loaf in bacon, but never though to wrap a hamburger in bacon! Again...DUH @ me! Thank you so much for sharing this. The next time we grill hamburgers, I'm definitely going to try this!
