With just a few weeks left until Halloween, Adam and I have been doing a lot of party planning brainstorming. One thing that has constantly been on my mind has been how to transform normal party food into something that fits into a Halloween theme; last week, we realized that one very simple way to put together a cohesive party plan is through having a color theme, and from there I decided to put together a few ideas for party foods that are black or orange! Today, I'm sharing five black and orange food ideas for your Halloween party!
What You'll Need: oranges and a black edible marker
Directions: Use a black, edible marker to draw these delightfully fun faces on your oranges! This party food idea would be a great way to get the kids involved in the party planning, and they will love having the ability to express themselves and be creative! Whether your Jack-O-Lantern oranges are funny, spooky, or silly--they are easy to make and serve as a healthy snack food for your Halloween party!
What You'll Need: wooden skewers, black olives, and sharp cheddar cheese
Directions: Cut your sharp cheddar cheese into smaller blocks and set aside. Wash off your black olives, and slide them down your wooden skewer (alternating between adding an olive and then adding a piece of cheese). Serve chilled or room temperature!
What You'll Need: hamburgers, buns, and slices of cheddar cheese
Directions: Prepare your hamburgers as you normally would. While your burgers are cooking, use a knife to cut face shapes out of your cheddar cheese slices! Place the cheese on top of the burgers once the burgers are fully cooked, and turn down your heat. Allow the cheese time to melt on top of your burger, and then serve them on hamburger buns and enjoy!
What You'll Need: a Fanta (Orange) Mini Can, 1 tablespoon of lemonade, 3 peeled small orange slices, and 1 chopped strawberry
Directions: Combine one Fanta Mini Can with lemonade, 3 orange slices, and 1 strawberry. Serve chilled over ice and with a fun straw!
What You'll Need: 2 OREO 2 packs, 2 cups of orange chocolate melts, 4 popsicle sticks, and black gel icing
Directions: Remove OREOs from their packaging and set aside. Melt chocolate melts completely in the microwave, and then dip OREOs into them. Use a fork to gently lift the OREO and move it around, so that the OREO is completely covered with melted chocolate. Place OREOs on top of popsicle sticks on a non-stick surface. Allow the chocolate time to harden. Once the chocolate has cooled, top the OREOs with black gel icing. Enjoy!
