This peanut butter cookie recipe is kid-friendly because it only has three ingredients! Get the kids involved with family baking by assigning them different baking tasks--you can have one child be responsible for rolling the dough into small cookie balls, and you can give another child the task of making the classic fork shape on the cookies before they go into the oven! With the holiday season just around the corner, try and find ways to build memories with your kids and bake together as a whole family; this recipe is so easy to make, and these peanut butter cookies are incredibly soft and decadent!

First, you'll want to mix your ingredients in a large mixing bowl: peanut butter, sugar, and egg.

Once everything is well-mixed together, refrigerate your ingredients for 30 minutes!

Using a spoon, scoop out 1 inch balls of peanut butter cookie dough onto a non-stick surface, so you  can begin to form your cookies.

Roll your peanut butter cookie dough into small, 1 inch-sized cookie dough balls.

Then, with a fork, make a criss-cross diagonal shape to give your cookies that classic, peanut butter cookie look!

Bake your cookies in the oven on a non-stick surface for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies have slightly hardened and have begun to brown on the bottom.

Kid-Friendly Peanut Butter Cookies
*makes about 2 dozen small cookies

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of Peter Pan® Simply Ground Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup of baker's ultra fine sugar
  • 1 egg
Directions:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees (F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine your ingredients. Mix well.
  3. Cover and store your cookie mix in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from refrigerator, and use a spoon to scoop out 1 inch size scoops of cookie mix to place on top of a non-stick surface.
  5. Shape your cookies into small cookie balls.
  6. Using a fork, create a small criss-cross diagonal shape on top of the cookies. This is optional, but it's traditional that a peanut butter cookie have this pattern on top!
  7. Bake your cookies on a non-stick cookie sheet surface for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies have slightly hardened and have begun to brown on the bottom.
  8. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool off on a cookie rack.
  9. Serve warm, and enjoy with a nice glass of milk!

The texture of the new, Peter Pan® Simply Ground Peanut Butter is so unique and really awesome!

Adam was a bit unsure at first if he'd like it, but once we each grabbed a spoon and had a taste, we both instantly loved this peanut butter! The texture is the perfect mix of smooth and creamy, which for me, makes this peanut butter really diverse to work with; I like my peanut butter on the smoother side when it comes to making peanut butter sandwiches, but in baking, I prefer to use peanut butter that is a little bit crunchy to give my baked goods a nice homemade texture.

The new, Peter Pan® Simply Ground Original and Honey Roast Peanut Butters have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives! And unlike some peanut butters, there's no need to stir before you enjoy it. This peanut butter is really unique, and I'll definitely be including it in more of my baking recipes that call for peanut butter.

If you are already following me on social media, you may have noticed I attended a demo at my local Walmart earlier last week to try the new, Peter Pan® Simply Ground Peanut Butter! Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Twitter, or even Facebook to stay up-to-date on any demos coming to a Walmart near you!

    1. Yeah, I don't even add baking soda to ours! Tastes just as awesome with the right texture! If you wanted your cookies to rise a little bit more, I would continue to use the baking soda. Otherwise you should give our recipe a try :) Let me know how you like it!!

  9. When I was in the third grade, we learned about fractions by cooking. At the end of the year, we made cookbooks with all of the recipes that we had made. This was the recipe for the peanut butter cookies, and I still remember it now (many, many) years later, because not only was it so easy, it makes the best peanut butter cookies ever!
