3 Things to do in Phoenix to Embrace Fall (and How to Cure Your Phoenix "Fall FOMO")

It's officially fall! All of your friends and family who don't live in Arizona are now posting all of their apple picking, hay riding, cider drinking, pumpkin patching pictures on social media; as an Arizonian, it is probably hard for you to embrace the fall season because the weather is just too hot to wear a sweater with jeans and run around outside with some hot apple cider like you really want to. Heck, if you go hay riding in Phoenix in the middle of October, you will most likely get a sunburn!

So today, I'm sharing a few things to do here in Greater Phoenix that are fall-themed, so you can get in on the fall spirit just like everyone else (and cure that serious "fall FOMO" aka "fall fear of missing out" that you may have!)

A favorite thing to do in the fall amongst most Phoenicians is to visit Schnepf Farms! The farm is open to enjoy in October Thursdays through Sundays. There is something fun for the whole family during the month of October at the farm--picking fresh fruit and vegetables from the orchards, pumpkin patches, admiring the gardens, having a family picnic, riding the hayrides, shopping the country store, or even enjoying s'mores by a bonfire!

Schnepf Farms Tickets: Purchase your discounted tickets ($15) at any register at Fry’s – the receipt you receive when you purchase tickets will be your proof of admission. Visit www.schnepffarms.com for more information about the 2015 Pumpkin and Chili Festival!

The Arizona State Fair is a glorious event that I look forward to every fall! Between the music festivals, to the farm animals, and even the excessive deep-fried foods--the state fair is something you simply cannot miss! If you are looking for some fall fun with a side of amusement park rides, you can check out the 30+ thrill rides (and also the just-for-kids amusement rides at the state fair!) There are also a wide variety of vendors with booths there who have unique, one-of-a-kind fall and winter goods you can only get during this time of year! I think it's safe to say that I find something new I had not seen before every time I go back to the Arizona State Fair--it's definitely one of my favorite fall-themed things to do, and it never gets old!

Arizona State Fair Tickets: Spend $40 or more in a single transaction at Fry's and receive a receipt message for two (2) free adult admissions on Friday 10/23, 10/30 or 11/6  from noon – 6 p.m.  $40 minimum purchase excludes alcohol, tobacco, postage, fuel, gift cards, money services, and tax. See Fry's store for details.

There are a number of intimate, Arizona local fall-themed festivals held at Rawhide every year in Chandler, AZ. Some of the festivals this year include Taste of Country, Wine & Chocolate Festival, and Rocktober Fest! If you're looking for something that is a "cowboy-meets-pumpkin patch" kind of thing to do, be sure to check out one of these awesome festivals! Each festival has a variety of food, yummy drinks, and festive things to do.
