Wine Hacks | Best Wine Serving Temperatures

Do you love wine? Are you looking for new ways to enjoy your wine even more? I recently discovered the difference in quality wines have when you serve them at the correct temperature; please don't judge me, but I used to drink my red wine refrigerated. I know, I know! It's cringeworthy. But I didn't know any better! Today, I've partnered with Latah Creek Wine Cellars to share my newly discovered wine hack--the best wine serving temperatures.

Enjoying your wine the way it was intended is important--there's a reason why sommeliers exist! Sure, sipping a frigid Cabernet Sauvignon may taste good to the wine newbie. But if you really want to enjoy a your favorite wine variety the way it was meant to be enjoyed, you're going to want to save this chart!

So you may be asking yourself, "that's great Cathy, but how do I measure the temperature of my wine?" Why with a wine thermometer, of course! That's why I'm going to be hosting a giveaway for my go-to wine thermometer. Be sure to enter the giveaway below!

Latah Creek Wine Cellars was kind enough to send us a box of their of their different wine varieties. Adam and I loved each and every one: the Pinot Gris, the Riesling, and the Malbec. We did some research and then served our wines at their correct temperatures (and they were divine!) Adam's favorite was their 2014 Riesling, and he said that is was a nice blend of tart and sweet. My favorite was their 2011 Malbec--it was full-bodied, smelled amazingly fruity, and had a wonderful lingering flavor of oak and plum. The 2014 Pinot Gris tasted nice too, and it went really nicely with my strawberry salad I made the other night.

I'm actually considering joining Latah Creek Wine Cellars' wine club, too. They offer a lot of different subscriptions to choose from, and the pricing is a lot more affordable than what I would have imagined it would be. On top of that, if I join their wine club, I will also get discounts on all of my future wine bottles I invest from them! And I'm a sucker for a good discount. I'll have to think about. Or better yet, maybe Santa Claus will bring me a Latah Creek Wine Cellars wine club membership for Christmas this year!

Did you enjoy this wine temperature chart? Do you want us to make another one that includes even more wine varieties?
