One Pan Pesto Chicken Pasta

Adam and I have really been trying to cut back on ordering dinner or going out to eat every week. Lately, it has felt like such a hassle to take the time to prepare dinner during the week. We don't want to have to sacrifice quality meals for our time--and that is why I've made it a focus to prepare meals that are convenient, easy, and fast. Today, I'm sharing an incredibly easy, one pan pasta recipe!

This one pan, pesto chicken pasta recipe is so easy to make literally anyone can master it, and it takes less than 30 minutes! 

This latest recipe was inspired by my recent trip to buy groceries at Walmart--Over the weekend when I went grocery shopping for us at Walmart, I picked up some more Barilla Pronto Penne Pasta and saw that they were hosting an in-store demo for Barilla Pronto Pasta. If you haven't tried it yet, be sure to head down to your local Walmart to pick up a box and see if they are having an in-store demo in your store (select locations!) 

One Pan Pesto Chicken Pasta

Ingredients:
  • Boneless chicken
  • Barilla Pesto Sauce
  • Barilla Pronto Penne Pasta
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 1/2 cups of low sodium chicken broth
  • A couple of fresh basil leaves
Directions:
  1. Heat a large stovetop skillet on medium heat. Trim the boneless chicken into small bite-sized pieces. 
  2. Cook the chicken in the skillet until golden brown. Once the chicken is cooked, turn off the heat.
  3. Pour the Barilla Pronto Penne Pasta into the pan with the cooked chicken (pan should not be hot).
  4. Add the water and chicken broth into the pan (and stir everything together so that the liquid should almost cover every piece of pasta). Bring the skillet to a boil.
  5. Allow the pasta to cook completely (about 10 minutes), and until all of the water/broth has been absorbed by the pasta. Pour the pesto sauce on top of the skillet.
  6. Stir in the pesto sauce and sprinkle in a few pieces of fresh basil. Enjoy!

  1. I always look for an alternative option of pasta recipe. This recipe surely worth to try, it looks delicious, and I like the combination of pasta, pesto and chicken.
