If I am being totally honest, I had not planned on doing very much traveling this summer.

Adam and I have been spending the last few months saving money for a big move, which we recently decided against making in the end. We told ourselves we'd have a low-key wedding anniversary and that we'd plan to do some traveling together later this year or in the beginning of 2017, and then I was fortunate enough to have a few travel opportunities pop up that we could manage with our current finances.

Traveling to Alaska for nearly two weeks was absolutely awesome, and Adam and I had a wonderful little weekend getaway in Sedona not too long ago. So I have been really lucky to get some surprise travel plans that sort of just came to fruition on their own!

Now that our summer travel has come to an end, looking back on our adventures I am so excited to continue to document all of the fun I had in some amazing places. Today, I'm sharing a DIY tutorial of a travel journal that I made that I will continue to fill with each and every new adventure we take in the future!

DIY Travel Journal

For my DIY travel journal memory book I used: a plain cardstock journal, a few prints of photos from our travel adventures, washi tape, scrapbooking stickers, a large map, scissors, paper adhesive glue, a sponge, and Pilot G2 Pens from Walmart.

I grabbed one of my United States maps and cut out a section from it that I wanted to use as my journal cover.

Then, I attached a piece of the map onto the cover of the journal with paper glue adhesive and a sponge.

Once my journal cover was complete, I grabbed one of my photo prints and a few scrapbooking stickers and began working on my pages for my journal.

I am loving how my journal has started to come together! Adam and I already have plans to travel out to Massachusetts sometime next Spring, and I cannot wait to see what fun we have and start to add it into my new travel journal memory book!

Check out a few of my first travel journal entries!
