One Pan, Creamy Cheddar Rotini with Red Sauce

This creamy, one pan rotini pasta recipe is a perfect mid-week dinner recipe. Thanks to my friends over at Ragu for sponsoring my recipe post that I am sharing with you today!

This past week was colder and cloudier than normal, and it finally felt like monsoon season!

On Friday, it was pouring rain all afternoon and when Adam got off of work we both cuddled up on the couch with a blanket and watched the rain from our living room window. It was such a lovely day! We hardly have rain here in Phoenix, so when we do, we always try to stop and take a moment to really relish in the beauty of it. Once we started getting hungry, we agreed we both wanted a warm and creamy pasta dish for dinner and we whipped up this one pan, creamy cheddar rotini and red sauce dish in just under 20 minutes.

One Pan, Creamy Cheddar Rotini with Red Pasta Sauce

  • 1 pound of dry rotini pasta
  • 1 cup of half and half
  • 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of Ragu Homestyle Pasta Sauce (we like adding in a serving of red meat so we opt for the Homestyle Thick & Hearty Meat Sauce, but any basic red pasta sauce will do!)
  1. Pour pasta into a large stovetop skillet with half and half and chicken broth.
  2. Stir the ingredients together and make sure the pasta is almost entirely covered by the broth/cream.
  3. Bring the skillet to a boil, stir the ingredients once more, and then bring the heat down to 1-2 (very low heat) and cover.
  4. Let the pasta cook covered for about 12-15 minutes and stir occasionally.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked all of the way through, add in the cheese and stir in the pasta sauce.
  6. Enjoy!
