Football season is finally here and we are so excited!

Every year, Adam and I have a tradition to make every single game day special. Whether we're breaking out the barbecue and enjoying some chicken wings on the grill, or savoring some extra spicy queso and tortilla chips with salsa, we always end up treating ourselves to some delicious snacks to get pumped for the game!

Today, I am sharing five must haves for any game day get-together. So whether you like to go all out and tailgate outside of the stadium, or if you enjoy having an intimate hangout with friends at home, we have got you covered on the basics when it comes to what to serve at your football occasion!

5 Must-Haves for Any Game Day

We may not agree on which team deserves to win at the end of the day, but there is no doubting that these game day must-haves will be a winner at every game day household across the nation!

#1 Wings

No matter whether you like them boneless, fried, baked, tossed in sauce, seasoned, or grilled, chicken wings are a game day essential every year! The morning before our game day festivities begin, I like to head down to our local Safeway to pick up a few pounds of buffalo wings from their deli.

#2 Cheese and Crackers

Cheese, in some way, shape, or form should be served at your game day get-together. I like to have a few different types of cheese slices and cubes and serve them with a variety of different crackers with all kinds of flavors.

#3 Drinks

Be sure to stock up on everyone's favorite game day drinks before the festivities begin! Last week when we watched the first game, Adam and I had cans of Coca-Cola® and COCA-COLA® ZERO SUGAR, as well as some bottles of water to enjoy from the start of the pre-game show all the way through the fourth quarter.

#4 Chips

My husband says that it is not really game day unless he has some tortilla chips or potato chips to snack on during the pre-game show. While I don't necessarily love potato chips for game day, tortilla chips are a must have (and are best served with some tasty salsas and dips!)

#5 Salsa/Dip

Medium-heat salsa is usually my go-to for game day since it is packed with flavor and has a nice kick to it without setting my mouth on fire. Queso is also a great addition to game day, and if you are serving potato chips one dip that is an absolute must-have is a sour cream dip!

I was able to pick up everything we needed for our game day at our neighborhood Safeway, including all of the food for our at-home tailgate including Coca-Cola and COKE ZERO SUGAR. They have so many different tailgate-friendly options you can find near the Arizona Cardinals "Score Great Deals" banners, pre-prepared foods at the deli, and also at the bakery (be sure to look out for football-shaped cakes, cupcakes, and more!)

Purchase $15 of participating products and get a catalina receipt with a code to enter to win an ultimate tailgate experience at the Arizona Cardinals game, and other great prizes. Check out http://cbi.as/a0fgd to enter!
