Our Mini Linky Party | Week 148
Happy November!
Good morning and happy Saturday! I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween this week. Adam and I were bummed--we didn't get one trick or treater to come knock on our door!!
We made sure that our porch light was on and everything. But no one came. We had the best decorations all set up and everything! We hand-carved a fun jack-o-lantern, set up glow in the dark cobwebs, had some spooky skeletons and giant spiders hanging on our door, and a fun graveyard decoration in our window. I made time to go shop for them and buy toys (and even to Adam's request, against all my wishes, I even went out and bought some candy...because Adam said our first Halloween in our new condo we couldn't be known as the house without candy). And all of that was for nothing, to say the least.
Apparently, there is a Halloween party that our neighborhood has where all of the kids dress up and go and get their candy from there. No one walks door to door to get candy here! I mean, what?! That's new for me. I had never heard of doing a party alternative to old school trick-or-treating, but apparently that's pretty popular in condominium neighborhoods. So later today, I'm dropping off all of the candy and the kids toys we bought for our absent trick-or-treaters to my friend and she's going to have her son bring it all to school to share with his friends so that it doesn't collect dust in our closet.
