One Pan Garlic Shrimp Pasta (and a Weeknight Cooking Hack)

This easy, delicious and convenient weeknight pasta recipe is made with my new favorite kitchen hack! Thank you to my friends over at Pop and Cook for sponsoring this post, and for making such a great cooking prep product!

Now that the holiday season is over and we have enjoyed some time away from the office, we are back at work and our regularly busy schedules have resumed. Weeknight dinner can be a pain on most days when we are both working, which is why we have become huge fans of one pan recipes!

This one pan recipe for garlic shrimp pasta incorpriates my favorite new kitchen hack! One of the more annoying parts of preparing dinner is cooking preparation, so Pop and Cook has been a real time saver for us and why we bought a bunch of packs in bulk to store in our freezer!

There are all different kinds of Pop and Cook products you can buy at Walmart, so you can really cut down on cooking preparation time and save yourself some sanity when you're trying to cook a meal at home with a busy workload. This one pan recipe is delicious, filling, and conveniently made all in one pan (so you can even cut down on the time you'd take to do dishes after dinner is over!)

One Pan Garlic Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients:
  • 5 cubes of Pop and Cook Crushed Garlic (i.e. 5 cloves of garlic)
  • 1/2 pound of uncooked shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 12 oz of penne pasta, uncooked
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable broth

Directions:
  1. Heat a large stovetop pan over medium heat.
  2. Toss some butter in the pan and allow it to melt down completely and cover the pan entirely.
  3. Toss the uncooked shrimp in the pan and cook the shrimp evenly on both sides all the way through. When the shrimp is almost completely cooked, toss in 4 cubes of Pop and Cook Crushed Garlic (i.e. 4 cloves, peeled and crushed). Stir the garlic around the pan and allow the shrimp to cook in the garlic. Turn the heat on the pan down to low heat.
  4. Allow the shrimp to sit on low heat for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour the water and the vegetable broth into the pan, followed by the pasta and one more cube of Pop and Cook Crushed Garlic.
  6. Stir the pan and ensure that the water covers 90% of the pasta. Turn the heat up to high to allow it to begin to boil, and then turn the heat down to medium heat and cover the pan.
  7. Allow the pasta and shrimp to cook in the covered pan for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure that the pasta is evenly cooked.
  8. As the pasta begins to absorb most of the liquid, turn the heat down to medium-low or low heat to ensure that the pasta and shrimp does not get burnt. Stir until it's cooked and then remove and serve right away. Enjoy!

  5. I love shrimp and garlic pasta dishes. I like that there are no unnecessary additives in the frozen Pop and Cook garlic. I've seen something similar, and it had ingredients in it that made me not buy it.
