Our Move Across Town | A Life Update

my own.

If you had asked me three days ago what day of the week it was, I would have probably laughed and sighed at the same time.

Being an avid reader of our blog, you would already know that the last two weeks or so have been pretty rough for us and we just finished making a big (and largely unanticipated) move from one side of the city to the other. Adam and I were living in a condo in Mesa, and when we got some unfortunate news about our property management at the condominium complex, we were forced to make a decision which ultimately required us to pack up all of our stuff and move somewhere else with just under a month's notice.

With our move from the east side of town into the heart of Phoenix behind us, you can probably imagine how eager we are to get back into a normal routine that doesn't involve packing, carrying, and unpacking moving boxes. Luckily, we are completely moved in and just left with the unpacking part of our move! The first few days after a move-in can feel overwhelming and defeating, but what helped us tremendously was re-establishing our morning routine and coming up with a list of unpacking goals to accomplish so we can stay on track and feel great about our new place!

One essential part of our morning routine revolves around coffee, and this week, we have been enjoying a cup of Laughing Man® Coffee in the mornings before we begin our unpacking process. With our new home in Phoenix, just a couple of minutes from Camelback Mountain, our closest store to us now is a Target.

The second day after we got our keys to our new place, I made my first trip to Target to stock up on what we could not live without the first few days in our new home (and, like many other people, we cannot happily function in the morning until we have enjoyed a cup of coffee!) I was able to grab a package of Laughing Man® Coffee Colombia Huila Blend Keurig K-Cup® Pods along with some toiletries, a jug of water, a broom, and some other household items.

Stocking up on everything we would need to get through the first few days of unpacking was an absolute necessity for us, and because we went shopping for essentials, we got stocked up on what we would need to get the energy to start to unpack all of our boxes and begin organizing our belongings.

Over the last few days, we were able to make some good progress in the kitchen, closets, and we have also begun to organize our home office. Our living room, however, is another story. Right now, our living room looks more like a dumpster with all of our empty boxes, and other miscellaneous items we have not found a place for that are all strewn about. Our new home is a work in progress, but for now, we can stay positive and know that sooner rather than later we will be all moved in and our new place will start to feel like home very soon!

I noticed that there were a few other kinds of blends of Laughing Man® Coffee available at Target, but I ended up getting the Laughing Man® Coffee Colombia Huila Blend because I enjoy a dark roast in the mornings (and picked up a bag of Laughing Man® Coffee Hugh's Blend because Adam enjoys a medium roast while he brews his own coffee at his work)

Seeing Hugh Jackman's picture on the coffee had me wondering more about the brand, and when I read about Laughing Man® Coffee online I learned that he is the co-founder of the coffee company. Being a fan of his movies, I was intrigued to learn more about the coffee, his passion for the company, and how with every Laughing Man® Coffee purchase they donate a portion of the proceeds to the Laughing Man Foundation which supports farming communities by investing in

programs that clear the way to health, growth, and success for coffee farmers, and their families.

I also learned that their K-Cup® Pods can be recycled, once you allow the K-Cup® Pods to cool after brewing and remove the lid and the coffee grounds! It’s amazing that one simple
decision in the morning can start my day off right. I am drinking delicious coffee that is good for
my taste buds and good for the world.

There are a variety of different coffee blends you can choose from in both coffee grounds and K-Cup® Pods, and you can learn all about this coffee brand and the positive impact their making on their website here.

  3. I'm not much of a coffee drinker. Wait, no, I am not a coffee drinker. I remember for a time I was, but now, my tastes have changed and I just can't. But caffeine - yes, that's a must!

  10. Moving across town is just as hard as moving across the state. About 6 years ago I moved within a mile of my old house. Just a few streets over, really. It was just as much a pain as when I moved from overseas!
