Our Top 10 Recipes of the Decade!

2020 is here, and before we look ahead we are looking back on the last decade and sharing the best blog posts over the last 10 years! This is a great one, y'all! You'll want to check this out!

Happy New Year! Oh, what a decade it has been, too.

So much has happened over the last 10 years, both good and bad, and before we look forward to what's to come we should take some time to reflect on our past. Outside of the blog, our lives have changed so much and my twenties were spent learning so much about myself. Blogging has provided me with an opportunity to channel my creativity, which is something I often look to when I want to channel my energy whether that be good or bad. And while there have been some very dark and depressing moments of this decade and even this year, most of what's happened over the last 10 years has been good. Today, I want to celebrate the best of the good moments and share with you the top 10 blog posts from the Our Mini Family blog over the last decade!

Of course, none of these posts would be what they are without your support! Thank you from the bottom of my heart---much of my plans over the next 10 years are going to change, but I am confident that the blog isn't going anywhere any time soon. Every view, share, and comment brings me joy. And I cannot emphasize how grateful I am for having a reader like you! When you support the blog and share it on Facebook or Pinterest, it lets me know how much you enjoy it and how well-received it is.

These ten recipes were the most viewed out of all of my recipes over the last 10 years---I hope you see one you enjoy or find something new to check out. Thank you again for supporting the blog over the last decade, and I look forward to sharing more recipes with you this year!

#10 Logan's Roadhouse Copycat Mac and Cheese

See our Logan's Roadhouse Copycat Mac and Cheese recipe here.

When Adam and I moved away from our neighborhood Logan's Roadhouse, we were saddened to realize we wouldn't be able to share their macaroni and cheese anymore. When I shared this recipe, it was while we were still living there and I had to tweak it a few times to get it right. I really only made this recipe just for the two of us to recall when we wanted to make it at home and I thought "why not blog it?" Turns out, plenty of other people---and I mean a LOT of people--feel just as passionately about Logan's Roadhouse macaroni and cheese as we do!

#9 One Pan, Three Cheese Penne Pasta Dinner

See our One Pan, Three Cheese Penne Pasta Dinner recipe here.

I am without a doubt so grateful for the sponsors who've chosen to work with us this past decade. While the Our Mini Family blog definitely made a shift these last 10 years and began to focus less on food, the sponsorship opportunities I have had for recipes were such an honor and really gave me a chance to express our love of food while being able to support my family. The Coca-Cola Company, while we haven't worked on any projects lately, was one of my favorite brands to work with because they allowed me so much creative freedom in my sponsored posts.

Our "One Pan, Three Cheese Penne Pasta Dinner recipe" was in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company, and I was elated when I saw that they decided to publicize it and drive their social media followers to our blog (and it was really exciting when people who found our blog for the recipe decided to stick around and follow us!) Without The Coca-Cola Company choosing to work with us and further promote our blog, I am not sure this recipe would have made it to my top 10 recipes. But I am sure glad that it did because it really is a sinfully delicious and creamy pasta dish.

#8 Chocolate Covered Cookie Dough Balls

See our Chocolate Covered Cookie Dough Balls here.

I have to laugh--and if you're wondering why there's a picture of Adam licking the batter from a whisk as the photo for this post it's because I am too embarrassed to share the other pictures from that post. This is the oldest blog post on this list and the photos certainly show it! While it has not been shared even a fraction of the number of times my posts are typically shared, the amount of views it has gotten has somehow ranked it to my top 10 blog posts of the decade.

This post has been on the blog since the very beginning. This was back when we lived in our first place together in Massachusetts right after we were married in 2011. Maybe this just goes to show that sometimes amazing pictures aren't everything---because the fact of the matter is, this recipe is the 8th most viewed food or recipe post over the last 10 years and that's saying something especially when you see the pictures from this post *cringes and laughs*

#7 Sriracha, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Grilled Cheese

See our Sriracha, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Grilled Cheese here.

Looking back over the last 10 years was a reminder that I was constantly trying to experiment with photo styling and things that felt forced to me. So many other food bloggers were using specific styles of napkins, backdrops, etc and all of that seemed silly to me but it somehow also felt like I had to do it. It wasn't until a few years ago when I finally stopped trying to match this Pinterest idea I thought I had to have for my photos and just did what I liked that I finally became happier with my pictures for my blog posts. This post, however, was not one of the ones I was happy with how the pictures came out. But that didn't matter! It is my 7th most viewed recipe or food post this decade!

#6 Italian Garlic Knots

See our Italian Garlic Knots recipe here.

Quite a few of my most viewed blog posts on this list do not have a crazy high number of shares on them. But they have been shared in the right places to get the most eyes on them. Between Google rankings, features on even larger lifestyle websites like Buzzfeed, and some well-performing Pinterest pins, my views for these "Italian Garlic Knots" and many other recipes have brought in so many views and attributed to the success of the blog over the last 10 years.

#5 Easy Cheesy Baked Garlic Bread

See our Easy, Cheesy Baked Garlic Bread recipe here.

With the big game only a few days away and seeing all of these game day recipes, Adam and I are drooling over here! I may end up making a small half loaf for myself this weekend, but since Adam has decided to adapt to a ketogenic diet again, he won't be partaking in this cheesy garlic bread that is just oh so delicious!

#4 Game Day Sourdough Chili Bowl

See our Game Day Sourdough Chili Bowl here.

Speaking of game day, this sourdough chili bowl recipe is our 4th most viewed recipe blog post over the last 10 years! We've received countless DMs and feedback from people and most of their comments go like this: "This is such a good idea can't believe I never thought of this!" Trust us, everything tastes better in a bread bowl!

#3 Southwestern Fried Pickles

See our Southwestern Fried Pickles recipe here.

There's something to be said about simple recipes. Some of our best recipe posts on this list aren't exactly the most complicated ones that we've shared on the blog. But a lot of them have one thing in common: comfort. While it's absolutely important to be mindful of what we are eating and aim to have a healthy diet, there's just something about a deep-fried pickle that really gets people excited!

#2 One Pan, Pollo Asado Parmesan Pasta

See our One Pan, Pollo Asado Parmesan Pasta recipe here.

When I first got the email from Buzzfeed telling me that they'd chosen this blog post to feature on their website, I really had no idea what kind of opportunities that would later provide me. This was one of the first major online websites that picked up one of our blog posts. Let me tell you, this was a game-changer for me. When this blog post was shared on Buzzfeed, it was the very thing that lead to my advertising network picking me up. I still have residual views every day from this post, and it is the 2nd most recipe post on the blog this past decade.

#1 Mongolian Beef Ramen

See our Mongolian Beef Ramen recipe here.

The #1 most viewed recipe post on the Our Mini Family blog this decade is a mind-bender.

I'm not certain if it's from the fact that I learned more about search engine optimization before this recipe, the fact that it was shared on the right websites, or if it's just that good of a simple ramen recipe. But it's the single most-viewed recipe on my blog since 2010. You might not think it just seeing only a couple hundred shares, but the places that it's been shared have greater audiences and their referral traffic has certainly contributed greatly to my pageviews on this post. I think it may be time to share another simple ramen recipe on the blog soon---you'll have to let us know! ;-)

We wish you only the best in the new decade to come!
Cheers, and thank you for supporting our blog!
