Fall Skincare and Beauty Favorites

Today, I'm sharing a number of my favorite skincare and beauty products right now that are perfect for fall!

Even though we did not spend any time traveling this summer due to COVID-19, I've had a chance to test plenty of products while I am at home. I've spent months testing products, taking notes comparing them to old favorites and my holy grails, and today I have narrowed down my current fall skincare and beauty favorites!

Admittedly, I am wearing less makeup these days since Adam and I are still practicing self-quarantine most of the time. I will throw on the occasional full face of makeup for fun, or I will apply some light coverage and some eyeshadow and mascara if I am going on a Zoom call, but overall, I am not wearing makeup as I normally would right now. And you'll want to keep this in mind when it comes to my recommendations. But skincare and haircare are still very much a priority for me, although, I am very overdue for a haircut but just haven't felt comfortable to go back to a beauty salon just yet.

Now, let's get onto the products!

Axiology Lip-to-Lid Balmies

This is my go-to for Zoom calls. Since March and since self-quarantine has started, I have been taking more and more video conference calls. When I'm on a video call, I don't want my makeup to be a distraction. I want to look fresh-faced, put-together, and ensure that my appearance does not take the attention away from what I am saying.

What I love about the Axiology Lip-to-Lid Balmies is that they allow me to keep my makeup subtle enough and monochromatic.

I say 'subtle enough' specifically because of video conferencing. I realize people who regularly wear makeup may not want a 'subtle' look. But, what I mean by that is since each of the balmies can be worn on the eyes, lips, and cheeks, the wash of the same color applied on these parts of your face gives an overall filter as opposed to different colors competing for your attention.

An added bonus with these Axiology Lip-to-Lid Balmies is that you are supporting a business that is making strides in the beauty community to be more sustainable! Their boxes are "handmade from recycled trash by a women's cooperative in Bali," and since they are wrapped in paper and not a lipstick tube, their "balmies are 100% zero waste." They are also Peta Certified, vegan, and cruelty-free, and their balmies are free of ingredients such as fragrance, alcohol, gluten, and soy.

OSEA green gua sha tool and small bottle of oil sitting on top of white marble

OSEA Undaria Argan Oil (coupled with Gua Sha massage)

This oil will be my savior as we head into the colder months! It's rich with ingredients that will help battle dryness as well as redness, which are two things I regularly deal with heading into the fall and winter months. What I've been doing lately is incorporating Gua Sha facial massage into my self-care routine, and I've been using it along with my OSEA Undaria Argan Oil and it's been wonderful! If you'd like me to share more about my experience with Gua Sha facial massage be sure to let me know!

Pixi hazelnut haze eyeshadow palette open on white marble

Pixi Eye Effects Hazelnut Haze

The "Hazelnut Haze" eyeshadow palette from Pixi Beauty is a great neutral eyeshadow palette for fall! If you're looking for an eyeshadow palette that has a little bit of red added to your warm neutrals, this is definitely the way to go. I like this eyeshadow palette from Pixi because it's got a hint of shimmer to it and it really compliments the other eyeshadow palette that I'm reaching for this fall.

Juvia's Place The Saharan Eyeshadow Palette open on white marble

Juvia's Place The Saharan Eyeshadow Palette

The Saharan Eyeshadow Palette from Juvia's Place has so many incredible eyeshadows that work with most if not all of my fall outfits! I am using this palette alongside my "Hazelnut Haze" eyeshadow palette from Pixi Beauty.

I would go so far as to argue that this Juvia's Place palette, while it's no marketed in this way, is basically a fall neutrals eyeshadow palette. It has your fall essential shades in both matte and shimmer. Not to mention, it's quite affordable compared to other eye makeup brands and I have a fairly easy job blending these shades with minimal effort.

While I love all of the shades in this palette, before I bought this new palette, I completely hit pan on the shades "Katsina," "Zoya," and "Lulu." I also used up most of the shade "Senegal," and I will be dipping more into the shades "Fula" and "Bororo" as we get closer to Christmas and I want to incorporate cranberry shades of red in my eye looks. This palette is also cruelty-free, which is something to note if you look out for that in your eye shadows.

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Dew Drops on white marble

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Dew Drops

As we head into cooler months, I want my skin to still look dewy and soft.

It's easy for my skin to achieve this when there's humidity in the air, but now that our monsoon season is well over and our weather begins to cool down, I know my skin will be needed a little extra help to stay looking fresh. The Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Drew Drops is a gel serum that I like to gently pat into my skin before I put on my moisturizer. It leaves my skin looking fresh, and it's made with ingredients like Sodium Hyaluronate and Niacinamide which my skin loves.

Drunk Elephant Milki Micellar Water

Drunk Elephant E-RaseTM Milki Micellar Water

Micellar water is something I use almost all year round, but I'm especially obsessed with the Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar Water because it is a little bit creamier and leaves my skin feeling extra supple before I begin the rest of my skincare routine at the end of the day!

There's no denying that Drunk Elephant does a good job of packing their products in with so many wonderful ingredients, but I absolutely love the mixture of ingredients in this micellar water. On top of having a micellar cleansing blend of ingredients that are targeted to remove dirt and makeup, this micellar water also has a 3-Ceramide blend of moisturizing ceramides to help with balancing moisture in the skin.

Wander Beauty Unlashed volume mascara

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara

I have been loving the Wander Beauty Mile High Club mascara for so long, but I've been reaching more for the Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara through the months of self-quarantine. I love both of these mascaras, but I prefer their Unlashed mascara because I am not taking the time to apply false eyelashes anymore these days. Being at home and mostly taking Zoom calls, I don't find it necessary to use false eyelashes. So, what I'm looking for from my mascara has changed, and I want more of a focus on curling my lashes than lengthening them which their Unlashed mascara definitely does!

Farmacy Daily Greens gel moisturizer

Farmacy Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer

The Farmacy Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer is an excellent fall moisturizer because it blends beautifully with the treatments and oils I am using and it adds lightweight, lasting hydration that is incredible for my skin! This Farmacy moisturizer is vegan, silicone-free, and oil-free and its ingredients (like hyaluronic acid and a blend of phytonutrients) work to clear your pores and reduce excess shine while adding moisture.

High Beauty High Maintenance Peel

High Beauty High Maintenance Peeling Mask

The "high maintenance" peeling mask from High Beauty is an excellent treatment mask that I am incorporating into my fall skincare routine!

I use this mask once a week, and I generally apply it right after I've had a warm shower and have already cleansed my face. This "high maintenance" mask works to purify, smooth, and resurface your face. When I use this treatment mask, it prepares my skin before I go in with a treatment oil or serum before I apply my night cream and go to sleep. It is worth noting that this mask does not have THC or CBD, but it is made with cannabis sativa seed oil which is rich in vitamins and minerals that can work wonders for the skin!

Glo Skin Beauty Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 plus on white marble

Glo Skin Beauty Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30+

This is not the first time (or the last time) I have sung the praises of the Glo Skin Beauty Moisturizing Tint SPF 30+ and I cannot recommend it enough! If you are like me and wanting to shift from high coverage foundation to something that's more lightweight but also does a nice job of balancing out your redness, you will want to get your hands on this tinted moisturizer from Glo Skin Beauty

Regardless of the season, this is my holy grail tinted moisturizer! What I have been finding myself doing (and I will continue to do as we head into fall) is only applying tinted moisturizer as opposed to a heavy foundation. As I mentioned earlier, a lot of my makeup needs have shifted this year with COVID-19 precautions and staying at home most of the time. I'm regularly on Zoom calls, and I really only want a fresh looking face as opposed to a full face of makeup on camera.

What I love about Glo Skin Beauty's tinted moisturizer for this is that it counteracts the redness in my face and leaves my skin with an overall blend of color that matches my skin tone, and it is made with SPF as well so in the event that I do hop outside to take Bowie for a walk in-between Zoom calls I don't have to worry about having my face protected from the sun's damaging rays.
