Current mood: over it.
This week's news events were so mentally exhausting. Adam and I did not sleep well, and I have been on edge pretty much non-stop. The attack on the U.S. Capitol this week disgusts me and reminds me that even when our country makes progress, we are still very much a divided nation.
Over the weekend, we are taking time away from all forms of social media, the news, and basically, any technology with Internet access to disassociate from everything that's going on in the news. Because my mental health will suffer if I don't.
All that aside, I am thankful for having a creative outlet. I am thankful that I have the privilege to turn off my phone and forget the world''s problems that exist outside of my home. I understand that I have a responsibility to care and to try to do my part to make the world a better place, but I need a break. And I am thankful that when I log back into my computer on Monday to check this link party, I get to see the amazing recipes and tutorials you shared with us. Thank you for being here! <3

ReplyDeleteMe too. I want to say 'I hope you have a great week' but knowing how the U.S. is right now I feel like none of us are going to take a collective breath of fresh air until January 21.
