Our Mini Linky Party | Week 331

Happy Saturday! I will be off to a slow start this morning, and then later today I will be volunteering for Go with the Flow. Today, I'll be visiting their office to put together some of their community period packs that they send to schools across the city.

Go with the Flow is a non-profit organization that provides menstrual products to students in an effort to combat period poverty around the Phoenix area. Many students will actually stay home from school because they do not have proper menstrual products, and one thing I love about Go with the Flow is that they donate period products to the schools with the neighborhoods of the greatest need. If you want to learn more about Go with the Flow, you can read this post. In this blog post, I share a little bit more about Go with the Flow and my experience with community service.

After volunteering, I've got a date at the pool with Mr. Mini. We've been anxiously waiting for our pool to warm up a little bit so we could enjoy it. Now that we've got more than 10 days or so with 90+ degree weather, the water won't be freezing and we can actually enjoy it!

Check out the features from this week:

  2. Happy weekend, Cathy! I am so thankful to know about your involvement with Go with the Flow. Thank you for your work! I knew about this problem in other countries, but hadn't considered that it might be a challenge for girls in the U.S. Shocking. Enjoy your day spreading your light!! And thank you for featuring my little diy gift bags. :) x jen

    1. Thank you, Jen! Yeah, sadly in most metropolitan cities period poverty is a problem here in the states. A lot of the teachers we work with were buying tampons and pads out of pocket so they had them for their students, and it's been great being able to provide those teachers with goodie bags for them to give to their students. We put together these community packs that are those cosmetic sample-size mini bags filled with 4-5 pads, 1-2 super tampons, 3-5 regular, and 2-3 light. It's been great working with this organization! Every period pack helps :)
