Happy Monday! Did you have some time to relax and unwind with friends and family this weekend?
Adam and I were incredibly busy all weekend long! Adam had to do some major overtime on a few projects he's involved in with work, and I was wrapped up with some Arizona blogger events. On Saturday morning before I left the house, I thought about how Adam gets when he is super busy; I swear, sometimes I am certain that my husband gets so busy that he forgets to take care of himself and do things (e.g. make lunch for himself, shave, take a shower, etc). So I decided that I should help him out while I was gone, and that I should leave him some ham and cheese rollups to munch on for lunch!
Adam is very much an "on-the-go" kinda guy, so I knew these ham and cheese rollups would be ideal for his busy day. These rollups are so simple and easy to make--the recipe is very straight-forward and totally tasty. These rollups would also be fun to throw into someone's lunchbox, and then you can really take your run-of-the-mill ham and cheese sandwich to the next level!
Ham and Cheese Rollups
Ingredients:
- 2-3 pieces of Hillshire Farm® Naturals Black Forest Ham
- 1 piece of sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup of chopped lettuce
- 1 tablespoon of Sriracha mayo
- 1 large flatbread
Directions:
- Prep and chop your lettuce into small pieces, and then lay them down on the edge of one side (short) of the flatbread.
- Fold the piece of cheese in half, and lay it on top of the lettuce.
- Place 2-3 slices of Hillshire Farm® Naturals Black Forest Ham on top.
- Squeeze your Sriracha mayo on the opposite side of the flatbread.
- Tightly roll your lettuce, cheese, and ham towards the Sriracha mayo. The mayo will serve as a glue to keep the flatbread in place.
- Slice the rolled-up flatbread--each rollup should be about 1 inch wide.
- Enjoy! Or store for up to 1 day (refrigerated) and snack on it later!
Ham and cheese is a lunch classic! I remember growing up having ham and cheese sandwiches all the time--I love how Hillshire Farm® is offering a “Love It or We’ll Eat It” guarantee for those who try the product. They will donate a lunch to someone in need if you “Love it” or provide a rebate.
Although this weekend was busy for us, this week will prove to be even busier! I have a lot of blogging projects to work on, and Adam is swamped at work as usual. Today I'll probably tackle my usual to-dos: cleaning and grocery shopping.
Earlier this morning, when I took a look inside our refrigerator to see what I need to add to my groceries list--guess what I found? An empty, Hillshire Farm® Naturals Black Forest Ham box! Adam must have ate the rest of the ham! Needless to say, I'll be headed back to Safeway to buy more this afternoon when I go grocery shopping!
I'm so hungry right now, after seeing this. I have a craving for wraps! For some reason, I've NEVER made them at home. Crazy, right?
ReplyDeleteHa aww I am sorry you are hungry! But now you can grab the Safeway coupon and go buy some Hillshire Farm Naturals to satisfy your craving! :-P
DeleteThis looks awesome! I am starving and this is exactly what I am craving! I have to grocery shop today so this is going on the list!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have this coupon before you go grocery shopping!
DeleteOh yum! We have a lot of wraps in the Summer- it's too hot out to eat heavy, and simple solutions like this are great for by the pool. I didn't know Hillshire had a new Naturals line so I'll have to keep an eye out for it!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! When it's hot outside, sometimes I just want something simple that doesn't involve cooking. And yes the Naturals line is fantastic!
DeleteThanks for sharing! I make 12 loaves of bread each week just to keep us stocked up for 2 weeks. This is a great alternative to just using bread with ham and cheese. I also like how you put the condiment on the one side and not spread it all over. I have to remember this as I always end up with a mess. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome! Oh my gosh--12 loaves?? That is awesome! And you're right, putting the spread on just one side definitely keeps it way less messy.
DeleteThis is a great back to school recipe for my daughter. She loves wraps!
ReplyDeleteShe has good taste!
DeleteI love the twist on ham & cheese! I bet my girls would enjoy these for lunch.
ReplyDeleteI know that I would have liked something like this in my lunch box growing up, too!
DeleteThat looks delicious! I love wraps, and this is a great one. Ham and cheese is my fave.
ReplyDeleteYes, ham and cheese is a total classic!
Deletenow that is an awesome and easy lunch idea! I love how simple it is to make too! Lunch time often doesn't get much time around here, but I could totally pull this one off.
ReplyDeleteThanks! And yes it was very fast to make!
DeleteThis looks like a delicious wrap! We go through so much lunch meat with three kids in school.
ReplyDeleteIt is SO delicious! And I can only imagine how much lunch meat you need to buy for your 3 kids in school--you could really use the coupon I bet!
DeleteThis is definitely our kind of lunch. We tend to get bored with traditional sandwiches and like to change things up, so this idea seems tasty and fun.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that for sure! We can get bored with regular sandwiches, and that's why I like to spice things up with these rollups!
DeleteThese look so tasty! I have to make them for my kids lunches too
ReplyDeleteI hope you do, and I hope they love it!
DeleteThese look so tasty! I love ham and cheese together.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOh my goodness, this looks amazing. I love the addition of the Sriracha mayo. Great idea... Thanks for this recipe.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, Shauna! Yes the Sriracha mayo pairs really well with ham and cheese!
DeleteThis is a great idea for lunches. I will have to try making these roll ups on the weekend. I am sure they will be a hit.
ReplyDeleteGreat! If you end up making them, I'd love to know how you liked them afterwards! :-)
DeleteSandwich roll ups are so nice for a change from bread. My kids like for me to send those in their lunches at school.
ReplyDeleteOh most definitely! Regular bread can be so bland if you have it day in and day out!
DeleteYou packed that full of nutrition and flavor. I am all over this delicious sandwich idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Liz!
DeleteMy kids would love this creative take on a sandwich!
ReplyDeleteThat is great to hear!
DeleteMmm, this looks soo yummy! I love finding new ways to spice up sandwich recipes.
ReplyDeleteYes, and this definitely is a bit more exciting than a regular bread sandwich!
Deletewow! this looks super yummy and very fresh.

ReplyDeleteYum indeed!
DeleteI have been craving these and now you post! YUM
ReplyDeleteNow's the time to fill the craving :-D
DeleteThis looks so yummy! This will be great for lunch. I don't have much time these days with 3 kids for lunch for myself!
ReplyDeleteI completely hear you--and it is so fast to make, so I am sure you would love these!
DeleteOh yum! This rollup looks like my kind of food! I wish I could get too busy to remember to eat. lol
ReplyDeleteHaha well sometimes it can help if we're feeling like only eating sweets, but otherwise forgetting to eat is not good at all!
DeleteI love rollups and so do my kids! We're going to have to try this recipe.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, Lucy! I hope you all enjoy them!
DeleteI don't know why I've never thought of this, my son would love this. Definitely going to be making. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteYou're more than welcome, Samantha! Hope your son loves it!
DeleteThat ham and cheese rollup sure sound taste
ReplyDeleteIt is very tasty!
DeleteI love, love, love this recipe! I love your recipes because they're so easy and delicious! You always give me inspiration because even though I love food, I'm not a good cook and creative in the kitchen! Thank you for sharing this recipe. I'm putting this on the lunch menu for one day next week. I have a question...I've never seen sriracha mayo in the store? Can you tell me what brand you use? That way I can look it up and see if I can find it locally. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeletePam, I really appreciate you saying that! You are so kind--just made me smile! I usually try to make my own Sriracha mayo, but when I'm in a pickle and need to buy some from the store I buy the Lee Kum Kee brand.
DeleteThank you for responding Cathy! I definitely will look for the Lee Kum Kee brand, but maybe as a post you could share with your followers/readers your recipe for sriracha mayo? Pretty please!? Thank you Cathy! I appreciate you!
DeleteHi Pam! You're very welcome--happy to connect with you! :-) I actually have shared how I make my own Sriracha mayo in the past (my Sriracha, Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Grilled Cheese post has it in it), but it's actually just: 1/4 cup of mayo for every 1 tablespoon of Sriracha hot sauce!
DeleteThese roll-ups look great. School is starting next week and I might have a chance with these. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThese look so easy! And they're pretty enough to be party food, too!
ReplyDeleteThese look really good. What a great and easy snack to make.
ReplyDeleteIronically, I am an excellent baker, but when it comes to cooking, I cannot boil water. Literally I burned a whole pot of Kraft Mac N Cheese the other night. But, that being said, I think even I can make these. Maybe not that pretty, but I can slap them together into a tasty treat! Thanks for the recipe!
