After spending months testing out which essential beauty products can 'take the heat' (quite literally and figuratively), I have narrowed down the list of my absolute must-have beauty items throughout the summer that apply to all kinds of climates while I travel or while Phoenix goes through its summer monsoon season mood swings.
These items are beauty products that I will use every single day--regardless of what I am doing or where I am traveling and what the weather is like--and they also work as multitaskers to keep my skin looking and feeling its best after a long travel day.
#1 AMOREPACIFIC Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder
The first thing that drew me in to use this cleansing powder for travel is the fact that it is not a liquid. Meaning, it does not count toward my TSA liquid restrictions. I first tried this as a travel product, and I have grown to love it so much that I use it regularly!
The AMOREPACIFIC Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder is a powder that turns to foam when you add water and fully lather it between your hands. While it is a scrub formulation, it is the most gentle yet effective cleansing powder I have ever used and really keeps my skin in check even with even the dirtiest, sweatiest, and longest travel days on my plate. My skin feels amazing after I used it and this cleansing powder really leaves my skin with a natural glow after I am done using it.
#2 BELIF Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner
The only toner that I will always travel with is the BELIF Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner. Made with sage and bergamot, which both do incredible things for my skin even when they have been under more extreme conditions, this toner will hydrate and provide some relief to my skin if it's feeling tired or overworked. Especially while traveling, my skin tends to get flush and sweaty and responds to air pollutants more than it normally would and I tend to be a lot drier in places where I would rather my skin feel moisturized (and particularly greasy where I really don't want to be).
On a day-to-day basis, my skin is normal. While I am traveling, I have an extreme case of combination skin particularly with my t-zone and this BELIF Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner always helps me counter that and gives my skin a chance to look and feel like itself while I travel or while it's especially warm or humid outside.
#3 Glo Skin Beauty Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30
I have a lot of respect for anyone who wants to put on a full face of makeup before a 7am flight! For me, though, if I am traveling that day or if I don't want to spend a lot of time nor put my skin through an entire beauty routine I will grab Glo Skin Beauty Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 and use that in lieu of foundation.
The Glo Skin Beauty Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 is ideal for summer travel since it is lightweight and has enough pigmentation to help counteract the redness I have on my cheeks. It has a lightweight and oil-free coverage that offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection that I will apply to my entire face and neck and it's small enough that I can bring it on the plane with me and keep in my purse to do touch-ups throughout the day.
This is by far the best tinted moisturizer I have tried which is why it's a must for the summer as well as when I want a little bit of coverage but don't have the time or patience to put on an entire face of moisturizer, primer, cream or liquid foundation, concealer, and powder.
#4 Wander Beauty Mile High Club Volume and Length Mascara
There's a reason this mascara is called "Mile High Club" and I'm obsessed with its formula and what it does to my eyelashes even for the longest of travel days! This long-lasting, volumizing, and lengthening mascara from Wander Beauty quickly transforms my eyelashes into whispy, voluminous, noticeably beautiful lashes that do enough work for my eyes that I don't feel like I need to wear eyeshadow that day.
For the days in the summer when it's hot and humid or when I am traveling all day, I don't particularly want a lot of makeup on my face but I also struggle with not wearing anything and then feeling drab afterward. The Wander Beauty Mile High Club Volume and Length Mascara wears very well for longer periods of time on my eyelashes, and it gives my eyes that extra pop that they need for me to feel good and put together.
This summer, I had a 20 hours travel day and the Wander Beauty Mile High Club Volume and Length Mascara stood up to the test and exceeded my expectations. It did not smudge, flake off, or smear down my face even after my eyes were watering. This mascara does take a little bit of work to remove since it is so long-lasting so I always make sure to bring along a great waterproof eye makeup remover, and it really gives my eyelashes the volume and length I want without having to apply false eyelashes!
#5 Mario Badescu Lip Balm (Squeeze Tube)
Dry lips? No thanks. Sadly, it happens every time I fly if I forget to bring my squeeze tube of Mario Badescu Lip Balm. But when I do remember to bring it, my lips remain feeling nourished and soft.
Mario Badescu Lip Balm is the ride-or-die lip balm that I have not been able to put down since I first tried it. It has an ultra-rich formula that quickly works into my skin and gives my lips a burst of moisture that is longer-lasting than other balms I have tried. It's made with cocoa butter, coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, and Vitamin E and this formula does wonders after a long flight or when I've been out in the sun all day and my lips are craving some TLC. Like the Glo Skin Beauty Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30, the Mario Badescu Lip Balm always travels with me and stays in my purse for touch-ups throughout the day.
I'm so that person who puts on a full set of makeup before boarding an early morning flight. I don' know why. :) However, for everyday, I pair down so much during the humid and hot summers here in SC. I need to try some of your summer essentials because we still have a lot of hot weather before fall arrives.
ReplyDeleteYes, if I remember correctly, SC is always warm into late fall. Y'all have the warm temps like we do while everyone gets to enjoy sweater weather lol!
